DIY Construction Paper Flowers

Flowers are so beautiful but can be challenging to take care of. These simple construction paper flowers not only make the perfect wall or room decoration, but they also will last forever!

Materials needed:

-Construction paper (any color)

-Glue

-Scissors

-Ruler

-Pencil

-Yellow pom-pom or yellow construction paper (for flower center)

Now that we have everything, let’s get crafting!

First, measure and cut five 1-inch wide, 8-inch long strips out of your construction paper.

Take one of the strips and glue the two ends together. This should make the strip form a teardrop-like shape.

Repeat this process with the other four strips. These will be the petals of your flower. Fun fact about flowers: rose petals have tiny perfume glands on their petals, making them smell good!

Next, glue the petals of your flower together in an overlapping manner, following the photos below. If glued together correctly, the flower should resemble a five-point star shape when looking at it from above.

Finally, for the flower center, either take a yellow pom-pom or trace and cut a small circle out of yellow construction paper. Glue the pom-pom or paper to the middle, where all the petals intersect.

That's your completed construction paper flower! Make some more flowers to hang up as wall decor.
