DIY Construction Paper Strawberries

I love strawberries, but where I live, it’s still too early for strawberries to be in season. In the meantime, (as we await strawberry season), this adorable strawberry construction paper craft is great to make. Perfect for both spring and summer, I hope you enjoy making this cute craft!

Materials needed:

-Red construction paper

-Green construction paper

-White paper

-Scissors

-Glue

-Pencil

-Black marker/pen

Now that we have everything, let’s get crafting!

To begin, fold the red construction paper in half and cut along the fold. You should end up with two identical paper rectangles.

Stack the two rectangles on top of each other and fold that stack in half.

Draw half a heart on the top paper. *Make sure that the half-heart is drawn facing the side of the paper where the fold is!*

Cut along the line you drew. When you separate and unfold the two pieces of paper, they should look like hearts.

Take a separate white piece of paper and one of the hearts. Glue down half of the heart, so the other half sticks up, as shown in the image below.

Take the other heart and glue half of it down right next to the first heart so that the unglued halves of both hearts are in the middle. You can press down the unglued halves slightly so they separate more, but make sure to still leave them sticking up and out.

From the green construction paper, trace and cut out a stem with leaves for the strawberry. The leaves don’t have to be perfect- they can just be a zig-zag shape as shown below.

Take this stem with leaves and glue it down near the top of the red strawberry.

Finally, take a black marker or pen and draw on small, teardrop-shaped seeds all over the strawberry.

That’s your completed construction paper strawberry! How cute!
