DIY Construction Paper Strip Rainbow

Updated: Jul 17, 2022

Rainbows look so beautiful in the sky, so why not bring one indoors? This cute, simple, and summery rainbow craft makes a perfect room decoration for kids of any age!

Materials needed:

-1-inch wide, 8-inch long strip of red construction paper

-1-inch wide, 7-inch long strip of orange construction paper

-1-inch wide, 6-inch long strip of yellow construction paper

-1-inch wide, 5-inch long strip of green construction paper

-1-inch wide, 4-inch long strip of blue construction paper

-1-inch wide, 3-inch long strip of purple construction paper

-Two cotton balls

-Glue

-Stapler

Now that we have everything, let’s get crafting!

To begin, stack all the strips of paper on top of each other in color order (red on the bottom and purple on top) and line their ends up on one side. Staple through all the strips close to the edge.

Line up the ends of the strips on the other side. This will cause the paper strips to curve up into an arch.

Staple these ends together, close to the edge.

Now take your two cotton balls and fluff them up to look like little clouds.

Apply glue to both ends of your paper rainbow and press the cotton balls to the paper. Once the cotton is on securely, fluff up the cotton again if necessary.

That’s our complete rainbow craft!
