DIY Pop-up Christmas Tree Card

With the holiday season in full swing, now is the perfect time to make this holiday card craft! Gift this card to someone or prop it on a shelf to show some festive spirit!

Materials needed:

-White sheet of paper

-Green sheet of paper (recommended for it to be smaller in size than the white sheet)

-Scissors

-Pencil

-Pom-pom

-Markers, colored pencils, or pens

-Glue or tape (not pictured in the image below)

Now that we have everything, let’s get crafting!

First, fold both sheets of paper in half. We only need the green sheet for the next few steps, so set the white one aside.

Starting a little above the middle of the green sheet, sketch a few lines, each slightly longer and about half an inch lower than the previous one, as shown in the image below. Feel free to make the space between each line bigger or smaller than half an inch, depending on what looks proportionate to you!

Next, make a cut along each line.

After making the cuts, you should be left with a few strips. Fold these strips inward. If done right, once you unfold the sheet of paper, you will have a shape pop up that looks like a layered fir tree! Fun fact: some fir trees can live for over 1000 years!

Now we need that white sheet of paper we previously set aside. Glue the green sheet of paper to the center of the white sheet. (Both sheets of paper should be unfolded for this step).

Finally, decorate the card with some festive designs and images and glue the pom-pom to the top of your paper tree. Your cute pop-up Christmas tree card is done!
