DIY Popsicle Stick Snowflakes

I love watching the snow fall- it’s so relaxing and beautiful, in my opinion! This winter craft honors the beauty of snow and is simple enough for kids of any age to make.

Materials needed:

-Blue popsicle sticks

-Glue

-Silver, white, or blue pipe cleaners

-Beads

-Scissors

-Ribbon (optional, not pictured below)

Now that we have everything, let’s get crafting!

First, take two blue popsicle sticks and glue them together in an X shape. *Note: if you do not have blue popsicle sticks, paint some regular popsicle sticks blue!* Take another popsicle stick and glue it horizontally through the X we just made.

*Remember to hold the popsicle sticks firmly together for 30 seconds when gluing them to ensure a tight hold!*

Next, glue a bead to the end of each popsicle stick. Fun fact about snowflakes: snow is porous and absorbs sound! That’s why it’s always quieter when it snows.

Then, take your colored pipe cleaners, and use them to add more designs to your snowflake. I cut my pipe cleaners and glued them in lines stemming from the center, but you can also wrap them around the popsicle sticks or come up with your own creative idea!

Optionally, you can glue a ribbon to the back of your snowflake to hang it up on a wall or Christmas tree as an ornament.

That’s your completed snowflake! Super cute and simple to make!
