DIY Seashell Jellyfish

Writer: Natalie GoryachevNatalie Goryachev

Seashells are fun (and free!) souvenirs that are perfect for commemorating beach trips. If your kids have started a seashell collection of their own, this cute craft is an excellent way to add some charm to it!

Materials needed:

-Clean Seashell(s)

-Paint (color of your choice)

-Paintbrush

-Colored paper (color should match chosen paint color)

-Scissors

-Tape

-Googly eyes with self-adhesive

-Marker

Now that we have everything, let’s get crafting!

First, paint your seashell with your chosen paint color. I decided on this turquoise blue because it reminds me of the ocean.

Please note- it may be beneficial to paint the seashell with a layer of white first for more full and vibrant coverage.

Once painted, cut some tentacles out of the colored paper. You can make them squiggly or just straight! Fun fact: jellyfish tentacles can grow over 100 feet long in certain species.

Turn the seashell over and tape the tentacles to its rim like so:

Flip the seashell over again and stick on the googly eyes.

Finally, draw on a little smile between the eyes with a marker. How cute!

You can also make seashells look like crabs or fish to add to your seashell sea creature collection!
