I think ladybugs are adorable creatures! Their red and black spots remind me of the summertime and fill me with so much joy! This ladybug toilet paper roll craft is a perfect one to make to honor these cute bugs.

Materials needed:

-Toilet paper roll

-Black acrylic paint

-Paintbrush

-Scissors

-Self-adhesive googly eyes

-Black construction paper

-Red construction paper

-Glue

Now that we have everything, let’s get crafting!

First, paint your toilet paper roll with black acrylic paint.

While the paint is drying, cut a circle out of the red construction paper. *Feel free to use a lid or some sort of circular object as a stencil to help you make an even circle!*

ree

Cut the circle in half. These semi-circles will be the wings of the ladybug.

ree

Paint black polka dots on the two semi-circles. Fun fact: ladybugs aren’t always red with black spots- they can also be orange, brown, yellow, or all black!

Once the painted toilet paper roll has dried, stick the self-adhesive googly eyes on it near the top edge.

ree

Apply a little bit of glue just under the googly eyes and attach the two ladybug wings. The wings should overlap at the top but point diagonally down and slightly away from each other.

ree

Finally, cut out two thin strips of black construction paper for the ladybug’s antennae and glue them to the inside of the toilet paper roll, allowing them to stick out.

Your toilet paper roll ladybug is finished! How cute!
