DIY Unicorn Corner Bookmark

As a book-lover, I believe that creasing book corners to remember your page is a big no-no, so bookmarks always come in handy! This origami corner bookmark is cute, simple to make, and will help you mark your page without messing up a new book!

Materials needed:

-Two pink origami sheets of paper (or just square sheets)

-Scissors

-Black marker

-Glue

Now that we have everything, let’s get crafting!

To begin, fold your square sheet of paper in half diagonally. Turn the triangle created so that the top point is looking up.

Next, fold the left and right corners of the triangle up to meet the point at the top.

Fold the two sides back out. You should be back to the original triangle shape, but it will have creases this time.

Take ONE of the two sheets from the top corner and fold it down to meet the bottom.

Finally, take the two left and right corners of the triangle base (the ones we previously creased), and tuck them into the pocket created from the previous step.

That’s it for the basic origami bookmark shape!

Now onto the embellishments! First, rotate your bookmark 180 degrees and draw on some eyes for your unicorn with the black marker. I drew on closed eyes, making my unicorn look asleep, but you can draw on whatever eyes you wish.

From the second sheet of paper, cut out small ears and a horn for your unicorn.

Glue those on, and your adorable unicorn corner bookmark is complete!

Once you have mastered the basic origami bookmark shape, you can decorate it with many different designs. Pictured below is a shark corner bookmark design. Get creative and let your imagination run wild!
