DIY Winter Paper Plate Wreath

With winter just around the corner, this simple paper plate wreath craft is the perfect way to add a bit of festive decor to any child’s room!

Materials needed:

-Paper plate

-Different shades of green construction paper

-Red construction paper

-Scissors

-Sequins

-Pencil

-Tape or glue

Now that we have everything, let’s get crafting!

To begin, cut out the center of the paper plate and discard or save it for a future craft, as only the rim is needed for this wreath. I would recommend folding the paper plate in half and then cutting it since this makes it easier to cut out the center.

Next, trace and cut many leaf-like shapes out of the green construction paper. I folded my two pieces of green paper in half four times before tracing the shape, so I could cut out many shapes in one go instead of having to cut each one out individually.

Then, cut out a bow shape from the red construction paper and tape (or glue) it to the paper plate rim.

In an overlapping manner, tape the green leaf shapes around the paper plate rim, starting and ending at the bow, as shown in the image below. Fun fact: wreaths are typically made from evergreens, symbolizing strength, since evergreens can survive very harsh winters.

Finally, attach sequins around the wreath for some extra festive charm!

That’s the completed paper plate wreath! * Please note that the green construction paper can be substituted with blue for a more icy winter wreath. *
